Time-lapse iron kettle An iron kettle manufactured in Mizusawa, Iwate Prefecture, Nanbu, and Tsubame Sanjo, Niigata Prefecture, selected from the perspective of modern kitchen, tea, and coffee supplies. As for kettles and kettles, teapots are used not only for green tea but also for coffee, black tea and herbal tea. And since the inside of the teapot is enamelled, you can't take in iron, but it is not a convenient product that has the advantage of easy care. It is rather inconvenient and heavy. However, you can experience the same texture as the weight of the southern ironware. The act of boiling hot water, which was tastelessly dry as one of the everyday scenes, will create your own meaning and satisfaction.
* About Nanbu Tekki *
Nambu craft ironware originated in the heyday of the third generation of Hiraizumi Fujiwara, who preserved its culture in Michinoku, and its tradition has been passed down today for more than 800 years. Nambu iron kettle is characterized by its unique taste of cast skin, astringency, loneliness and wabi, as well as the “matsukaze” when hot water is boiling. This product is heated in a charcoal furnace to about 900 degrees Celsius, coated with an oxide film on the inside to prevent gold, and finished with a traditional technique unique to the southern part, which burns and attaches urushi and rice balls to the surface.
1975 (Showa 50), 2020 new work designated as a traditional craft designated by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry
